Random R question.
I have a usdm itr trans w/ vin plate still attached, and i am wondering is there a way to track down what # R it came from with the vin?
And does having a vin plate make more valuable at resell time?

Just post the vin on here.
Someone will be able to ID it and find the corresponding plaque #.
And yes, vin is valuable on the tranny to verify that it's a real itr tranny.

Check the VIN at:

It won't answer all of your questions, but it is a start.

The shell might be part of a K swap.
The owner of Papa Johns Pizza was able to locate a Firebird, that was his highschool car (from the 1970s). To be clear, I not suggesting that you call Papa Johns and ask to speak to the owner.

it having a vin on it doesn't make it any more valuable just proves its not stolen.
itr trannys go from 800-1200 depending on condition and documented milage. aka you saying ohh bro its only got 15k miles on it with no paper work doesn't mean ****.
if it doesn't have a vin on it its stolen. aka useless and not worth any thing.

I think it's valid. Maybe he wants to see where his tranny came from? Kind of like tracking the travels and hand exchanges of a dollar bill.
Good luck finding the ITR badge number of the car it came from unless it is registered with Bespoke.
