Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster. I apologise in advance if this thread's been done somewhere... I used the search function... promise!

I want to get the opinion of the seasoned car enthusiasts on vinyl wraps / car wraps. It seems to be a pretty good option as far as cost effectiveness goes for getting a unique look such as satin / chrome (not that I'd ever dream of chroming anything) and job turnaround time, but it comes with it's caveats such as a potentially poor finish around painted interior sections, etcetera. Plus I have no idea how it washes or responds to road wear like stone chips?

If anyone could shed some light that would be excellent. I'm in the UK by the way.. not that it changes anything, unless someone wants to throw a recommendation my way?

I have the roof wrapped on my Civic. Did it myself. It's NOT as easy to apply as you would think. The surface of he car has to be immaculately clean prior to application. And no matter how meticulous you are, you will get air bubbles. Even in a relatively flat surface. It's held up just fine for the year it's been on. I used some carbon fiber Dinoc. Holds up to washing just fine as long as the edges are not exposed. Then they will curl up.

As far as "finishes" go, that's up to the person doing the work, not the product.
