98 Honda Accord No Acceleration
I have a 98 Honda accord lx
Will not accelerate. Had the fluid flushed and refilled although no signs of shavings or burnt smell shifts into all gears fine
Car won't accelerate
My uncle is a mechanic and insists its the computer but all other mechanics say it sounds like tranny failure. Is there anything I can do to eliminate one or the other? Please help
Thanx

What symptoms the car made for you to think it's the tranny? Not accelerating could be a clog Cat, or other ignition issues, fuel issues, or clogged EGR. Many things could be doing this. Definitely not the computer as the car still run. I am not sure but the tranny computer might be separate from the ECU.
Lol I gotcha ya! I took it for "diagnostic" at a local dealership and had the transmission flushed and both places said they thought it was tranny failure.Although its not my first time hearing your answer and sounds highly possible! The car ran ok prior to the acceleration problem and then one day it just stop accelerating! Thanks for the thought! I will check on this and see if it's not the problem
