Fortune Auto Coilovers
Has anybody tried Fortune Auto 500 Series coilovers? I heard about them on various Evo & WRX boards, and they seem to be held in high regard.
Most of the other brands the Evo & WRX guys seem to like (JRZ, Racecomp, etc) do not offer Honda Civic applications. However, I checked and Fortune does offer a Honda Civic coilover setup.

Assembled in the USA...made in...?
"Review" of installation on an S2000 Link. Someone else commented in that thread and seems to not have had a good experience with them.
For the price, I'd stick with a Koni/GC setup.

However, most of the complaints seem to be coming from people who select insanely high spring rates, and then complain the ride is too bouncy because the shocks don't soak up the bumps. What do people expect when they go with super stiff springs?
I don't want to start a huge argument here, however I think the Ground Control Koni set-up is over-priced for what you get. If it came with helper springs and top hats for the price then I would be sold.
If you factor in the cost of helper springs and top hats (regular OEM top hats, not the extended GC hats) then you are at the same price as full monotube coil-overs that have much shorter shock bodies.
I know people say you don't need the helper springs... That is fine for them. I want the helper springs.
Assuming that the quality control is decent and the parts are properly inspected before assembly, I'm down to hear more about these. They are domestically serviceable and re-valveable, and if the company truly supports them at the level they claim to they could be another option. Koni/GC shouldn't be the only player on the block.

I was basing the price comparison on this site. I'm not sure if that's a competitive price for them, or if they can be found for a lot less. If you add in the Swift springs and helper springs there, you are well above the Koni/GC cost (even with two rear helper springs).
Isn't the Koni/GC combo roughly $800 dollars? If you add in $100 bucks for OEM top hats, and (at least) $200 for helper springs and spring couplers (spring dividers), and then the price is the same.
With the Fortune set-up you have the added benefit of monotube shocks with much shorter bodies. So you probably get a little more travel, and there is probably no need for helper springs because the main spring is probably not free at full shock extension.
I have nothing against the Koni/GC setup, I just don't like the idea of having the springs not seated when the suspension is fully extended. So that is why I would get the helper springs. I would also get a new set of top hats so I would have a full set of shocks I could swap over to another car if needed.

So? Where a product is made has nothing to do with the quality, it's simply cheaper to have things made overseas. If they were made here, most people wouldn't be able to afford them surely. It's sad but true, but if I was in the business of selling parts I would outsource all day in order to hit a certain price point.

Evilstar, I actually meant to quote the post above yours. Sorry. Looking at their website, it seems like they are actually doing their r&d. They aren't making any secrets about what their product is or how it's put together. They are also ISO certified, which means they are doing their job on quality inspection. My interest is piqued, I'd like to hear more about the company.

They were great. I bought them used with unsure miles but they rusted quick. Had them on my civic hatch ek and they ride like stock. Once they rusted out i couldnt deal witout adjusting them so i sold em. Overrall great coilovers in my book.
I would go with something from Pic or KW, or possibly Fortune, instead before I waited that long.
Sorry to bump a super old thread, but I'm curious if anyone else is running them yet? Just picked up my set, but won't be able to use em for a bit while the car's still in the works.
