Default 2000 accord v6 auto trans not shifting!?

I have a 2000 honda accord coupe 3.0v6/auto that is having transmission problems. The alternator is also shot so I haven't been able to drive it much. But what I have noticed is when I put it into reverse it engages into gear nicely. When I put it into Drive (D4) it lurches like it's going into gear but doesn't move when I take my foot off the brake. D3 does the same, however if I pull it into D2 or D1 it will go into gear just fine. D4 light doesn't work, don't know if that means anything or just a dead dash bulb. Anyone work on these or have any ideas or am I looking at replacing the transmission? Other than that the car is very clean for 175,000 miles.

sounds like sprag or clutches let go... Find a new one or learn to rebuild they are very simple.. unlike chevy or fords at least to me they are..

yes, but if you go acura you need to change sensors etc i think, stick with the honda and its a direct swap auto to auto
