EG9 GSR Wheel Hop
Hey guys, I have a '94 civic ex sedan with a full '01 GSR swap. 1st gear is awful under any real acceration due to crazy amounts of wheel hop. 2-3K from a dig & all I do is violently rattle the dash apart. It's my understanding that GSR's didn't have lsd tranny which could be part of it but I also read elsewhere about tie bars, strut bars and traction bars helping amend WH. Pretty much everybody pointed me in the direction of a "fullrace" traction bar which runs around $300 from their website.
Is this my best buck per results choice? Want to get all my suspension set up before I build/boost.

I'm driving a more powerful car than you with no LSD and I have no wheel hop. Are you sitting on trashy suspension suspension with crappy tires right now? Maybe you want to tell people about what is currently on your car now because right now. I suspect poor driving skills.
I agree with grumblemarc, check your whole front suspension. I just went through the same thing with mine. Make sure you check your steering rack too. I kept going through tie rods and c-arm bushings because I didn't know mine was bad when I bought the car.
Stock EX/D16 suspension sitting on Falken ZieX ZE512 205/50R15 with good tread wrapped around GSR blades. Also, if it matters I don't have power steering.
It very well could be my skill. I either take it up to 3K and drop the clutch or even if I just ease into it then floor it once I'm rolling it still gives me a terrible rattle. Like, beyond anything accptacble rattle. Like loose change flys out of the ashtray and my phone goes flying terrible.

and stop street racing. side stepping the clutch is only for doing burnouts, because it is the most effective way to loose traction. come off slower. if it's a stock clutch and you can't smell it burning up after a few runs, you're not getting off the line as fast as you could be. where are the dad's to show a kid how to drive these days? if you want to save on parts, either stop racing or don't expect 100%
anyway, traction bars are a great add-on to a higher-powered civic.. but don't cheap out. if the geometry is wrong you'll just add to your problems.
best start would be to get some good shocks and upgrade all your bushings. this will make an entire world of difference.
