My buddy just came back from the impound yard, his car was found today after it was stolen from his driveway yesterday. Since he unfortunately only has liability he is pretty much fuqt. They took his 97 CDM B16a/tranny, radiator etc...hacked the wire harness inside and out so what I suggested is to sell both passenger and driver side airbags, all the glass, door panels, headlights/tail lights and anything that a Honda/Acura junkyard would buy. So he would be left with a very clean 1997 rolling EK chasis, its that purple color (metallic saphire?) clean title and straight body. My question is, I have never shopped for a bare shell so I have no idea on prices so my question to you my fellow honda afficionados is; what is your opinions or what prices have you seen something like this go for?. He loves that car, his first honda/hybrid but he needs money to buy a beater that runs decent to commute to work and back. All input is greatly appreciated. TIA

im looking for an EG shell and ive seen anywhere from 400$ to 2500$ for ones dipped in paint.

You might be able to get more with out selling all the panels...lose the airbags though...if you find a place that will buy them let me know...I have 5!

 

i wouldn't strip the car further, i'd sell it the way it is. check out the hatch i bought off copart, its stripped pretty bad, i bought it for 550. you can't really say the value of the car without saying the year, since the prices for different years are obviously different. if its a 96-98 i'd say its worth around 2-2.5k if all it needs is an engine swap, if its a 99-00 i'd say up to 3.5k.

actually a run for bad luck...I replaced the wheel from my coupe but then the car was stolen...wreaked my R and stripped it for parts... replaced the wheel on my girls del sol...which she wreaked...

I've also been working on honda's for 11 years now so you stock parts tend to pile up!

 

i have a set of 98 civic airbags that'r for sale if anybody wants them. they're off the civic i got for parts for my hatch.
