Default Rebuilding a D16A6, what parts am I missing?

So I have a D16a6 I want to rebuild, but Im unsure of all the little oem pieces to replace.

Like I know people say replace oil pump, water pump etc. But what about all the little o-rings, gasket seals etc. Should I just go on majestic Hondas website with blown up pictures and damn near replace everything I see fit? My tensioner looked pretty rusty, but there damn near 10 parts to the blown up assembly for example. Id probably forget a lot of things doing it that way.

Im pretty sure they sell head rebuild kits on ebay so Ill probably look at those, someone in a thread I searched said "Gasket kit A" was an oem honda kit to rebuild our head, but I couldnt find it on majestic honda, does it still exist??

My engine is fairly old and was sitting a while with most parts not in the greatest unknown condition, so thats why Im unsure how far to go on this

You can get a head gasket set here:
http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/199...ad_gasket.html

Get the Ishino, (they make gaskets for Honda, so it's the same as if you got it from Honda), and choose the correct year for your car. They have small differences.

To get timing belt, water pump, tensioner, etc I always use one of these guys:
This is with a NPW water pump
http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-91-Honda-...item3cb7d3e0f3

If you don't mind spending a bit more, this comes with the Aisin water pump:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Civic-...item33690b5b69

I never had problems with either of these kits and I have used them for years.

These 2 kits, the gasket and the timing belt kit together should have everything you need unless you plan to take the block apart too

Is there a part number list to rebuild the head with oem honda parts??

Or should I get an aftermarket head rebuilt kit off ebay??

I just want quality, since this engine will see abuse, but little miles

Ishino is one of the companies that makes the belts and gaskets you buy from Honda. So if you go to your dealer and buy them there, you just pay more because they play middleman in the whole transaction and wanna get paid for that.
You save if you buy directly from the mfg because you leave out the middleman.
But it's still up to you where you buy it. If you don't feel comfortable, go buy it from Honda. Your decision. But as info: the 2 parts are equivalent since they're made by the same company
