Anyone have pics of a Duplicolor paint job?
I was planning on trying to paint my prelude. ive done quite a bit of research. its my firstpaint job but will have guidance through the job and i have all of the necessary equipment already.
i want a good paint job which is why i passed up the Rusto job. but being my first time i didnt want to buy top of the line paint and get mad drips etc.
i looked up the duplicolor paint job and the Silver really looks quite good. silvers also a lot more forgiving on body work imperfections than colors like gloss black which is why i chose silver for my color choice.
i was wondering if anyone has duplicolor paint job pics?
i know some of the colors look straight nasty and their clearcoat sucks but i was going for a flatish silver like this:

if need be, ill use a different brand clear over it

if your worried about runs and not getting your paint to lay out just right i suggest you practice on a test panel a few times.
find an old rusty door or fender, prep it for paint then practice.
your local auto parts store will probably carry a line of cheap single stage paint (clear not required) or a cheap production line of base coats and clear coats to choose from. in my opinion i don't think very highly of duplicolor. they try to make affordable products and some of their stuff is not bad but like anything else you get what you pay for. ive refinished wheels using their products with good results but thats not an entire car though
remember to take your time with your prep work and research how to do it right the first time. you can tell when a paint job is rushed and in the end its worth it to not cut corners.
just my 2 cents
the nissan in that thread looks like it has no clear coat. doens't look too bad though. but i also like flat colors. to me if the cars all an even color i can dig it.

i know the other duplicolor paints dont look very fantastic. i know that the white looks fairly good. that might be cool to go the white pearl way with it.
i think duplicolors blue looks pretty flat idk though i like the tone of that silver.
