Default Compatiable Brake Pads?

Hey guys i have been trying to do research but it seems like everything i google ends up being ebay. I am trying to order some brake pads for me car but am not sure what will fit. Now i have a JDM 97 Integra Type R and i want to order brake pads both front and rear. If i order some of amazon and they fit the USDM Type R or regular integra will they fit mine? or will my brake calipers be different than the US? Thank you

If you have the 4x114 lug setup then you can use integra GSR pads for the front and rear. If you have 5 lug, then you can use US type R pads

i'm partially with these pad choices. the problem with the smaller brakes on an R is that you can quickly run away from them. i would use the HP+ on the street. with the usdm or 98+ jdm brakes the hps works on the street but not so much with base model brakes and 200hp

the hp+ is still too weak for track use but it is a good autocross pad and a good street pad except it does dust and does eat rotors.

there's a guy on ebay selling the rear hp+ pads inexpensive, like 55 shipped

ok just to be sure, so my 97 JDM Type R uses the same brakes as the USDM GSR ? Like the calipers are the same so therefore they use the same pads? both front and rear? and my car is slightly modified but i do gymkana and such every now and then. Thanks

that's correct

i've had your combo before. jdm itr engine in a stock gsr chassis. the brakes are too small if you drive aggressive. what i highly suggest doing is using prelude vtec rotors and shave 1/8th off of itr calipers. it's a direct fit on your 96-97 hubs and gives you the big brakes

If you have 96-spec original sized JDM ITR brakes...

- GSR pads in the US
- GSR calipers in the US
- Brackets are different if I recall

If you want to use 98-spec JDM ITR/USDM ITR size brakes, see my threads on here and itrca.

The h-t link is around in a thread here too maybe a page or so around.

You have to make sure you get the 94-96 spec gsr brakes. The rears got a lil bigger in 97-2001 and do not fit the ITR spec calipers.

speaking from experience, bought 98 spec gsr brakes and had to return for 95 spec

pads are the same on all base models 94-01

unsure about that rear rotor business as different part numbers are showing on rock auto for the 94 and 99 rear rotors.

pads are the same. 94-01 gsr/ls/rs

just get something good if you don't want them to go up in smoke.

hawk hp+ is probably the best cost to benefit ratio

yes, pads are the same, it's only the rear rotors/calipers that had the discussion of difference. on that, no idea, never researched it or looked into model year changes on the rotors - calipers

So let's say the rotors and calipers are different , they will still accept the same pads right ?

Rear pad change as stated above. Trust me, or just go buy 98 spec pads and find out they don't fit in the rear.

Fronts are all the same.

So for the rears I grab 94-96 spec brakes and for the fronts I can get any gsr right? When I try looking for rear pads the only thing I am given off amazon is 94-2001 pads

there is no rear pad change

check the part numbers

HB350N.496

is the hawk part number for the hp+ both my old car {a 97} and a 94 gsr i know of used this pad

i have no idea about the rear rotor or caliper as i never purchased anything that wasn't specific to my car

a quick google search however, shows rear rotors all being marketed as 94-01

http://www.velocityfactor.net/script...idproduct=2720

http://throwdownperformance.com/inde...07&language=en

http://www.cimotorsports.net/motor-s...a-integra.html

i think there is a very good chance mr 94-96 are different was given the wrong parts at one point, the only rear rotors, pads, calipers that change 98+ are jdm since the itr got the bigger brakes

keep in mind these rear rotors are 4x100, no idea where you will find 4x114 rear rotors to fit your application. you could always redrill 4x100 i suppose, that wouldn't be too hard

if those rears are the same as the usdm and 98+ jdm R rear that would be a slick setup. you could use usdm front and rear calipers, prelude vtec front rotors and 90-93 accord rears, keep 4x114 and have the usdm big brakes with minimal effort

That is what I did...98-spec ITR brakes all around while retaining 4x114...no redrills or anything weird needed.

no idea, it seems to be specific to honda oe. most the aftermarkets run the 94-96 casting. here's pics of the two. honestly have never seen the 98+
