Default A/C Suction & Discharge hose interchangability

im looking to try and finish up my A/C in my CRX. now i know there is a difference in the a/c compressors (Sanden and Mitusba). and obviously the hoses that come off the compressors are different. but here is my question. i havent had any luck finding any 88-91 civic/crx with a/c at any local junk yards in my area and am now considering buying them online. does anyone know if there is a difference between the suction and discharge lines that come off the evaporator core and then connect to the hoses coming off the a/c compressor? the ones that go from firewall, along by the battery and then connect to the hoses between the exhaust manifold and fans?

dealer says that they are only located an vintage parts, and are on back order but doesnt have apart number which they believe means its now discontinued.

thanks in advance guys.

the only difference i have found is the 2 lines on directly on the compressor, i recently put ac back into a crx with a matsushita compressor and have the sanden in my other one. i used junkyard parts as there was a bunch of 88-91 civics at pick a part near me

Yup the only lines that are different are the ones coming out of the compressor. Everything else up to the firewall is the same. I too am installing ac in my civic. New lines are discontinued, so I traded some suspenstion parts for a whole system my buddy didnt want off his car.

I would suggest getting a matushita compressor as I been trying for months to locate a used discharge hose for a sanden compressor.

Its weird, at the junkyards I went to here in the LA area, there were mostly sanden compressors. I did notice the matsushita comp bracket weighs twice as much as the Sanden. 6lbs vs. 3lbs.

Matsushita on top and sanden on the bottom:

The hoses are different for each compressor, the hard lines are the same. If you run a b-series compressor, you can have a shop make hybrid hoses.

I already have my ac set up on my car. Went to fill the system and it leaked. So I just need to replace the main line coming off the firewall
