99 Accord Coupe security system help
I have a 99 accord coupe ex v6. I do not have the key fob and my key that starts the car does not unlock it. I recently hit the lock button located next to the handle and locked my doors on accident. (this is when I found out my key does not unlock my car.) So I figured if I used a small metal pole and unlocked my car with the button, it would unlock without a problem. WRONG. The alarm went off, so i opened the hood and disconnected the battery. I tried to find the keyless entry box to reset it, but apparently, I don't have one. I do have a little LED light labeled security on the top of my door panel. Is there anyway I can permanently reset the security system or take it out? If I can just disable the lock and unlock buttons that would be fine too.
I could not locate my remote system receiver. I found several places where it was supposed to be located, I.E. above the storage spot in front of the shifter, and under the glove box, and in the fuse boxes. I don't think I have one. Today, my lights started going off for no reason along with my horn. I just took the horn relay out and drove it anyways. When i went to get out, my car kept locking itself when I went to unlock it. I had to climb out of the sunroof to get out.
Remote system receiver is part of the multiplex system and can't be removed. You can buy a remote fob and program it to work for your car. Get one on ebay. different remotes for lx and ex so specify.
