92 accord cruise control
i have 1992 honda accord ex 2.2 litre. I push cruise control main switch and it lights up. I then push accell and the green dash lights ups also. But cruise doesnt engage. I figured it was servo/regulator. Any help is appreciated.
There is a big hose that runs down into the frame. Then there is a vacuum hose that attaches to the intake manifold on the side. If either one of those is cut off I gotta think cruise control won't work.

is there a simple way for me to know which vacuum hose is which. I know what the servo is of course but how to find the hose i dont. How do i know i am looking at right hose?
wow looks complex. also i forgot to say it is a manual trans. The first cruise button lights then set button lights up the green light on instrument panel but servo never engages. What should i check first?
Hey,
I've been reading on this forum for a while now, but finally decided to register to get this one question answered:
How would one go about getting ahold of a copy of that manual?
I've got a regular manual from Canadian Tire, but thats not as detailed as I wish it were.
Thanks,
-TK

I just bought a '92 honda accord ex yesterday
i noticed a similar issue with my cruise control, it will occasionally hold speed, and on the other hand, occasionally slowly, or sometimes quickly, drop speed with the cruise control set. im thinking it is a vacuum leak as well, but am curious about the best way to figure where the leak is coming from?

the vent hose,am assuming it is called the vent hose, the bigger hose that goes down into the fender which am assuming the speed control sensor controls, anyways please read on, what does that go to. I tested the vacuum lines and it works. i tested the servo and that works. The vent hose goes down into metal like a a vacuum line is suppose to connect to it on other side. but i see no line thru that hole. i see metal. How do i get to this part of the car if i need to reconnect a line. I tried taking off the fender skirt but i still cant access that part. So one the vent hose is a vacuum line that controls the amount of input on the servo so it needs a vacuum. Am assuming since i see metal that the line on the other side has fallen off or something. Two how do i access this area?

ok i figured out it is just vent hose to the charcoal canister and means relatively nothing to my problem. So i connect a vacuum to that vent hose to check if the servo works which it did rev up the engine. So what could be my problem.
There's really only one vacuum hose going from the cruise control unit to the intake manifold. I mean, there's a couple that make up one line. Just take em off each spot one at a time and see if any of em feel like they aren't holding vacuum. What you can do if you're lucky is just cut off the edge and put it back on and the part that is now exposed will be good enough to do the job. Over time the part that goes onto the ports expands with age.
do i need to put pressure into the lines to test any. I did test if it was holding vacuum adn it seems to be cause when i pull last hose off to servo i can hear and feel pressured air releasing. is that good enough test or do i need to be more thorough. what test is next to run?
i dont have pressure pump so i cant run the pressure test. am totally lost on how to test the control module or even what is most appropiate to test next. some direction would be appreciated.
