Crx rear defroster doesnt work, and winter is coming!!!
So I noticed after the first real dewey cold morning here that I turned on my rear defrsoter buttom on the side of the cluster, and after 15 minutes, the cloudiness did not clear up or show any signs of the defroster working on the rear hatch.
I checked and the wires are plugged in on the back of the cluster, BUT I no that the hatch is not original (so Im thinking the wires were cut and spliced) I remember having to rig up a wire to the brake lights from the 3rd brakelight wire because that wasnt working when I bought the car.
Can anyone help me trouble shoot this??
The car is an 89 Crx Si

Check continuity of what wire, and where
The lines are on the glass, 2 appear to be damaged/broken where something must have rubbed against them

yes they sell conductive paint repair kits, and I will fix those. But Im rpetty sure this is a wiring issue due to the fact that the rear wiper is deleted and the hatch is not factory

And you never answered this question:
Fuse isnt blown
I didnt know the element got 12+ volts and could be tested, test right on the window? where the cable meets the window?

so I do have 14 volts at the rear hatch points where it connects to the window
I looked VERY carefully at the lines on the window, and it appears something ran ALLLLL the way up close to the side and nicked every single line. Must have been putting something in the trunk or something.
I'll have to bu the repair paste and fix all those, hope that works.
I would be amazed if thats all I needed to do!
