Default Going with the Valentine-1

Finally I kind of decided to go with V1.

1) I have read about installing it in the third brake light. Any idea on how it will impact the performance? From V1's webite" Valentine One was designed to mount near the center of the windshield. Use your choice of windshield mount or visor mount"

2) From V1's webite " Windshield heaters such as Ford's InstaClearŽ system (you can see a brown tint) block radar from passing through the glass. So do mirrored sun screens. Detector performance will be seriously reduced when mounted behind such metallic films"

I beleive the stock rear glass of the GSR ( I have 99 GSR sedan) has got some kind of light tint in it . Will it affect the performance?

Thanks

Doesn't on my '96 GSR. Rear sensitivity is very high. The V1 is a great choice BTW.

Check out "Tomakit"'s setup if you want the ultimate sleeper mode.

I've got some fairly dark tint applied to my rear window, but it hasn't affected my V1's performance that I've noticed...

That is one purchase you won't regret spending the extra $$$ on, it's the best!

From what I gathered so far, laser works by direct line of sight, if blocked by anything you will lose laser detection. Radar will penetrate just about anything
non-metallic. So its best to have a direct line of sight for better results. But even if the V1 is blocked by anything non metallic because of stealth installation
( installing V1 in the third brale light, hiding in the cap, etc) it should work fine
