I'm currently installing new suspension and bought new replacement rubber rings for the rear. Does anyone know on which specific rear spring coil that Honda put this ring on for 96-00 Civics?

2nd coil from the top, 3rd from the top, 4th from the top, etc.

Which one did they put it on?

Did they put this on to prevent rubbing from 2 adjacent coils?

Here's a pic from my old spring/shock assembly that I removed. I put the rubber ring on the 3rd coil from the top. Is this correct placement?

 

i have never seen one of those before...

 

mine has the rubber on the first coil when I bought it.

 

The top coil IIRC. But I've ran plenty of setups without it, they've been just fine
