Default where does this plug go?? and will this intake work with my car?

99 Hx civic... could not find a stock intake anywhere local for the life of me. found one off of a '94 model... the tube hooks up to the throttle body, but i havent installed my starter, and some other stuff so i havent taken the stock '99s very bottom air tube out to replace it with the '94 yet (the part thats under the chassis up front because its a little different. anyway... will this '94 intake bolt up into my '99 and what is this plug for? im assuming an IAT sensor? if so that means ill have to find a '99 intake or cut a hole in this one i guess... any help is appreciated thanks!

okay... something is definately not right here... i went to all 3 parts stores and they all came up with the same part number IAT sensor from '96-'00 even tried different models besides the HX... would not plug up to my harness... even finally went and bought a complete intake from an EX in the junkyard... everything hooked up fine, had the IAT sensor still in it, but it was the same style the parts stores had... would not plug up! WTF is going on here???

in the pictures, you can clearly see the plug is actually a little smaller than the sensor itself, no way its fitting over the senor to plug in. everything else on the car is plugged up, this is the last plug left. not to mention the sensor has the little offset "tong" on the bottom, the plug does not. the sensor is also more squarish than the rounded plug... what the hey is going on?
