throttle body sticking(70mm bdl tb)
hi to start it off i have searched. and from the research i've clean the tb and lubed the cable.it has only help a little.
ok for the problem before when i would drive the car the rpms would not go down . until i went and closed it my self under the hood. so after i cleaned it and lubed the cable i can rev it a little and it will go down. any advice on how to fix this issue is appriecated .

Bdl throttle bodies are famous for this. The problem is the blade sticks a bit in the bore. Sometimes you can take them off and rub on them a bit and scuff it down. In the case of bdl's I got into the habit of tossing them out and getting one that doesn't suck.
I feel that 90% of aftermarket throttle body's have this or other quality control issues. By the time the are installed, vibrated, stroked and heated up they begin to work like crap. Some even stick right out of the box.

so should i sand the bore down a little bit with like a 1000 grit sand paper?im kind of out of money for this build. so looking to fix it myself
I had a 76/78mm RPM Products billet TB that also stuck. Its the plate that sticks. You can try to adjust the set screws. I never got mine right and switched TBs.
On the throttle pulley. There are screws to set the min and max rotation of the pulley. If the plate is sticking its because its probably rotating too far. You can try adjusting those stops so the plate doesnt hit the bore.

i think i tried playing with it . but when i loosen it up theres play on the plate. by that i mean that i can hold the pulley, and move the plate.what throttle body would you recommend ? if i were to buy a new one.
There should not be any play there .The pulley and plate should be fixed to one another. This is another problem I had with Bdl was movement of the arm that engages the tps. This made the tps setting never the same twice. When you said you can lower the idle speed by hand, this would indicate the stop is set correctly, other wise it would stay revving. Muckman is right though, sometimes those are not set correctly and that can make the blade stick in the bore. I would get rid of that thing. The newer skunk2 are suppose to be decent but I just stick with oem, if you really feel the need for a bigger one send it to max bore, he does a nice job boring them out and setting them up.
can it be i have my bracket and cable mounted wrong ? i cant seem to upload the picture on to my photo bucket . so i cant post it up . but if someone can try posted a picture of how to mount a bracket and cable on a victor x manifold for a gsr . that would be nice
also as of right now i do have it tighten to where the pulley and plate moves as one .

I'm pretty sure it's just the BDL throttle body sticking. Seems to be a relatively common problem with them. Here's two pics I found with a quick Google search for GSR motors with Victor X manifolds.

thanks looks like mines is mounted the same as the second picture. maybe i will just
let my tuner mess with it. he told me to sand something down . my phone sound is crappy , so i couldnt hear him. i dont want to sand the wrong part or sand to much of it.

^Good, the first pic looks jank as hell. Like someone stated before, the butterfly valve on the throttle body is probably a smidge too large for the housing which is causing it to stick. You could sand it a little bit but you would definitely have to be extremely careful to sand a uniform amount off the plate.
Honestly I say it would just be easier to sell it and buy an oem enlarged throttle body from Max Bore.

ok looks like i have it fixed . i just need to get the inside of the cable lubed . i will update you guys in a little .thanks alot for all the help
Mine was doing that as well, come to find out the butterfly was getting stuck when closed and i re-adjusted the bottom screw solve the problem.

sorry to bump an old thread....
But I have the opposite issue...mine revs up to high to the point i have to turn the car off.
Ericks Racing 68mm on a S2 b16 manifold. Stock b16 motor. What could be causing the car to rev to the moon once it is started?

Why stock?
There are plenty of quality throttle bodies around...
Skunk alpha
Omni
Phearable has a good deal on 68 and 70mm ones, 69.00 shipped

A closed butterfly won't cause that, it won't let the car run, period. Unless the blade has gone past where its supposed to stop
.take a picture of the butterfly, because unless your IACV is being a retard then its something else
Start the car with no throttle input, what does it do?
