Hey guys,

Have a quick question. Im tuning up my 95 Del Sol (D16Z6 Engine) and im looking to get more performance out of it. Before I start "beefing up" the engine, should I upgrade the oil pump for better lubrication? Is something like a pre-start engagement pump worth putting in?

Please let me know what your suggestions are. Thanks guys

 

Why change what a BILLION+ $ a yr company spent millions on r&d to make sure it works? There i nothing wrong with oem z6 oil pump, at most if your pushing OVER 350whp with a z6 u can port oil passages in pump or have it done

 

Well here's my situation, my current oil pump died on me; therefore I am removing the old one and thought that since I have the option of installing a new pump that can get an additional 15 psi of oil pressure, why not? I understand what you mean with the stock pump. The one im looking at isnt a new design or anything, its a reworked OEM pump with the bigger ports like you said.

 

Stock pump. Get one.
