Figured you would all like some first hand pics of the '13 Accord with the new motor K24w1 Earth Dreams. Interesting. These were taken in our shop (I work back here). Here ya go

The top center dash is a bit strange. Overall, not as "bad" as I thought it would be. Or I should say, it does not look all that much like a Hyundai Sonata copy.

I can live with it (like any other Honda). But then again, I'm not "feeling it." Would not make me even think about trading in my 8Gen.

The only think I'm jelly on is the new steering wheel. I like the 8Gen steering wheel feel and size, when I first held it.

This corporate wheel (on CRV and Civic also), IMO, is even better in terms of size and feel.

 

Its a push start as well. Also has a TPMS button on the drivers left bottom dash area.

Looks like a big as R18. I was off yesterday, but heard we got them in at our dealer. Cant wait to check them out/ drive one.

 

That looks really nice!! It does remind me of a Sonata a bit, but Hyundai is making some nice cars now so I wouldnt be surprised if Honda is taking cues from them.

Overall it gets a from me. Whats the "Earth Dreams" on the VC mean??

 

It's all marketing. To make it sound Earth friendly. It's the Engine Mother Earth been dreaming about, instead of Smog Killing Fishes.

Same K24 + zero weight oil + Direct Injection.

 

New modules are available to take so i will get on those asap and share what isn't already out all over the internet, i was busy today so I didn't get the chance.

 

It says " ????? DREAMS" on the valve cover. Does it say earth dreams? Whats that about?

The v6's vcm only has operation in 3cyl mode now. Earthdreams is simply a gimmic, and MacStrut has replaced the double wishbone. Torque outa the new k24 is 180'lb. The subframe is a little diff, have an aluminum rear section. And other subtle changes. This car should actualy handle real good. According to Honda, a F1 engineer helped in design of the body aero. However I still dont realy care too much for it imo. (After looking at it litteraly all day yesterday and watching the new model module, to be honest, it seems American Honda took the '10 TL features and put them in this car and call it 'all new'.)

 

I noticed the position of the engine cover. So the the K2k still "tick?"

I figure with DI, the ticking would be louder? Ok, the hood insolation is back, good.

Valvebody assy. Its a CVTII btw.
And yes, it still ticks lol.

 

I like the sound of Smog Killing Fishes... "fishes" is so politically correct... It's not picking on any fish in particular, it's going to kill them ALL!

Not crazy about the upper portion of the center dash. Other than that, I like it.

 

I'm very excited to work on these accords. I hope they don't have too much problems. Lets not forget about CVT transmissions =]

 

I drove one of the V6 EXL models the other day....it's a mover!

but the k24 has a rear exhaust, front intake. This engine has a front exhaust. So all they did was basically just modify it, correct?

 

Basically. Its a heavy mod however.

 

Plan on getting a leftover 13 or possibly a new 14 next October depending on any new features. I want to see if it has any quirks. Most likely the 4dr Sport. It doesn't have XM but it's a $23k car.

 

nice car...i like the headlights and the gauge... not really liking the body or its just not sinking in yet....
