Default 24 Hour of Lemons with P72

Hello,

I'm building LeMons car with an ls/vtec motor and P72 ecu. I cut off A,B,and D harness off the ecu. I'm planning on plugging all the sensors for engine into ecu with my own direct wires. Question is will the engine run or did I need anything from the body harness?

Thanks!

-Michael

Whether the engine runs or not really all dependents on how you wire it up!

I'm going to assume that you have a wire diagram for the chassis you removed the harnesses from. Yes/No? You really should if you don't already. It will show you if there are any wires from the ECU that switch over to the body harness.

I guess what I'm saying is say I wire all engine sensors and the distributor properly. Will the P72 run the engine on its own?

Yes as long as you have all of the required PGM-FI (engine) related sensors. If the P72 is chipped you could even get away with running fewer sensors. Depends on the software you use for tuning.
