5 speed swap cost
I am seriously thinking about swapping a 5 speed into my 97 ex auto. The only thing I'm worried about is the cost. Parts and all what is a good estimate? I really want a 5 speed and i love my car, so I don't want to sell it for something else.
Who's doing the work and where are you getting the parts from are whats going to contribute to your parts costs.
Find a MT car, convert yours to MT and the donor to AT, sell the parts car and recoup costs, do all the work yourself, a couple hundred bucks.
Bring it to the nearest uber motorsports shop, a few thousand and your first born.

And I found some clutch kits online for like 80 bucks, and probably get the axels, and clutch lines from napa because I get a student discount, then the rest pull from a junkyard. But i will definitely make sure the transmission works before buying it.
as little as free if you know the right people to as much as well over $1000 if you buy lots of new. your local car forum ads and pick a part junkyards are your best bets to bring price down.
Don't go cheap on the clutch and flywheel, buy a quality kit that will last and tolerate abuse.
When I did my swap I opted for an Exedy stage 1 clutch pack and Fidanza 8 pound flywheel.
There is a noticeable reduction in engine drag during acceleration and the clutch kit will ensure I don't have to drop the trans again any time soon.
With the amount of time that goes into a clutch swap it's not the kind of thing you want to have to do more than absolutely necessary.
All told I spent about 900 on parts for my swap, however, that's because I went with the M2F4 prelude trans.
It has gears too short to suit the accords powerband imo.
If you go with all accord parts it can be done for significantly less.
The real cost to me was the amount of downtime involved, try and plan for a solid week of work, line up other means of transportation or rent a car, it's quite the feeling once you get it all done.

My wifes 97 wagon was converted to manual for a little over $500. This included new shift cables, flywheel (stock), clutch, CV shafts, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and custom clutch line (direct to slave from master cylinder).
I still want to swap the computer for a manual ECU, but locating an OBDII non-VTEC manual ECU is difficult in my neck of the woods.

As others have suggested, you could do this for next to nothing...
Find a wrecked or not running 5sp on Craigslist (saw one for 750 bucks a few weeks back), do the swap, and sell your original trans, and the donor car...you might be able to come ahead if you are willing to take the time to part it out.
