Need some K23a1 answers
Ok so I did some searching and couldn't find anyone who has done this or tried to do this. I'm wondering how much work we would be looking at to do a K23a1 (new turbo RDX motor) & awd drivetrain swap into a first gen v. I know it would probably be easier to do in a later gen that already has a k20 but I'm not a huge fan of the body styles. Also I've heard the only manual transmissions that bolt to the K23a1 block are the j series trannies so does anyone know if you could possibly swap the internals of the 5 or even better the 6 speed into the RDX bell housing and maintain the awd system or would you have to just do fwd to go to a manual Trans. I know this is a stab in the dark but I'm really hoping one of you guys have more info than I can seem to find on google.
for bragging rights.... its doable, but for practical reasons.......!?!?!?

Not so much for bragging rights as I just think it would be awesome to drop an OEM turbo awd drivetrain from something newer into an older v. Kinda like putting a vq35 in a 240 or a 2Jz in a Corolla (those are just the first things at came to mind lol) I just feel like it would be awesome to wake up and drive that every day. So not for power or for bragging rights but for the love of all things Honda lol
if you have the funds and resources, id say do it! keep us updated!! but for discussion purposes
or tinkering around.. its a good topic! ive encountered a lot of this instances the past years im
messing around my Vs, and in the end i went to a more convenient and common way to get the
power im looking and the reliablilty that i needed....
but in the near future, if i get a chance to see another rdx in a scrap yard, i dont mind buying
the whole car as long as most parts i need are still salvageable, it would be nice to have the
donor car around incase we go for a purpose build like this....

Well I think that for now I'm gonna do the normal b18b1 turbo build for now but I would in the near future (3-5 years) see this build come to fruition as I believe it would be just pure awesome. So I wanted to start some r&d now lol. But as you have built a few v's what transfer case and rear can I use to beef up the rt4wd to handle 300+ HP with daily driver reliability. And also be able to handle a few launches every now and again =P
