PURCHASED A SET OF TWO RNR RIMS FROM AN HT USER. ONE IS PERFECT THE OTHER HAS A FEW EASILY REPAIRABLE NICKS ON THE FACE AND A CRACK ON THE SPOKE. MY QUESTION TO ALL IS HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD THIS AREA REPAIRED? I WAS INFORMED BY A MODERATOR THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY A LOST CAUSE. I TRIED TAKING THE WHEEL TO A WELL KNOWN SHOP IN THE AREA AND WAS TOLD HE COULDNT TAKE THE RISK IN REPAIRING IT DUE TO ITS LOCATION. SHOULD I TRY AND FIND A WELDER TO DO IT ANYWAY? OR SHOULD I LOOK FOR ANOTHER SINGLE RIM? FYI I PLAN ON RUNNING SOMEWHERE AROUND AN 8 INCH SLICK ON THESE WHEELS SO THEY WILL BE UNDER STRESS.

Those cracks are not repairable, if you want a safe wheel. The structural integrity is already ruined, and welding them would only make things worse (weaken the surrounding metal). Sadly, the Mugen RNR is the weakest wheel to ever come from Mugen. Even in good condition I have little faith in their composition, when it comes to enduring increased stress from racing.
Like Matt said, the nicks are easily repairable, however the cracks are not. Once the structural integrity of the wheel has been compromised (ie. cracked spoke) the wheel is essentially junk.
Especially if your planning to race on these wheels with slicks, there is no way I'd even consider trying to repair
