1995 Civic EX Main Relay Problem(maybe)
One morning, I woke up to go to work and noticed my car would not start. So,being that the battery was from walmart and past warranty, I went and replaced the battery. The car would still not start.Checked for spark and there was spark. Then I checked for fuel and noticed the the fuel pump was not coming on at all.Went and replaced the fuel pump and strainer and still nothing,no fuel. Then decided to do some research and found out that the fuel pump gets power through the main relay.Replaced the main relay and the car started up fine.BUT when i thought the problem was over the car started to do the same thing over again.Just for the hell of it, I still had the old relay and swapped it out with the new one I had just got.Car starts up fine with it,but every once in a while the car will refuse to start and there will be no fuel. What could possibly be the problem why the car acts up at times but run fine other times?
Clean and tighten the G101 ground wire attached to the thermostat housing. If the problem persists, swap in a known good ECU to see if the problem is eliminated.
I have a 95 also.. the problem is pretty common i believe.. a few friends and myself have had the same problem.. the solder breaks off the connections on the inside of relay.. u can take it apart and find the broken connection, re solder and it will save u the hassle and $$..
