Icon6 OBD2A harness question, LS/Vtec-T on EJ6

hello guys, not too much of a talker here on HT, but im always reading all the good stuff on the site , lot of smart ppl here, also got good parts from here too.

need your help , tried searching for this already and no luck.

i have a OBD2A Engine Harness , that i bought from a guy, he said that it came off a EX civic, vtec. it does have 3 plugs and fit to my OBD2A ECU ( so iguess at least its not AT ), but im a little confused when it comes to identifying some plugs and where they go, , i also have some that are cut (about 3). im not a Pro on this, but i want to do this myself.
this is goin on an 97 EJ6, with a LS/Vtec-T. B18B1 Block, B16A2 head, No AC, no PS. no Knock Sensor installed.
again, im not a pro on this, so please no stupid comments.

thanks in advance.

Best way to help us help you is with pics.
Vtec Is a one wire (green) plug.

Post pics of the sensors you have and a seperate pic of the cut plugs, showing the colors of the wires also.

What ECU are u running? Knowing may help you eliminate unneccessary sensors.

Ok , will take pictures and post em in the AM. Also I'm using a OBD1 P28 which I think will be adding S300.

Thanks again !

here are the pics , thanks in advance for all the help guys

complete Harness

distributor side of harness

IACV and TPS ????? no , maybe.??

by the position in the harness of these 2 , im assuming they go on back of the block ?? what is the blue/red with blue stripe end single wire? and the one with the rubber?

i know these four connectors are for the injectors, but what is that fifth one ??

heres another cut plug, anyone can tell what it is ? how about that plug shown?

another shot of the cut wires ,, for better reference.

ECU side

another shot of the plug i showed with the 3 cut wires

I know for sure the plug with the boot is the oil pressure sender connector.
The connector with the injectors is the evap canistor.
For the cut wires you'll need a multi meter and probe the ecu connectors and distinguish wich pins they go into at the ecu.
That red wire looks to be the vtec solenoid wire.since its chopped up, you'll need to verify it by using the above method.

The cut wires wht/blu blk and yellow/blk are for the vss.

It looks like you have an hx harness there.

so since im not usin the evap , i can remove the plug completely ??

you are saying the VSS is the wht/blu blk and yellow/blk , what about that plug shown in the last pic , what is it for? because it plugs right to the VSS !???

the red wire , really doubt is for the Vtec, since its located in the middle , not where the distributor plug is at.???

thanks again.

Yes that wire combo is the vss only way to be sure is with a meter and find out wich pin that white\ blue is going in at the ecu.

that could be for the knock sensor then.
I would really out and buy a cheap multimeter from harbor freight and test for continuity back to the ecu connectors.

thanks again.

no problem , i have a multimeter ! will check what pins they go to
now to identify where they go on the ECU Connectors is easy, what i would need is wiring diagram for them , so i could just follow it ,, do you have one or does it exist ?

thanks

Just label each wire as you go.
Get some masking tape or ductape etc.
Start with whatever wire you like check for continuity back at the ecu connector and label what you find. A8 b7 d8 etc.

Google katman and on that site (ffsquad) they have all the pinouts there and just cross refrence.

Just a quick run down yellow\blk = 12v source.
Green\blk= sensor ground
Blk= ground

U were right In all of em except the Vtec, trying to double check that one , will do tomorrow.,
Now , I got a question, with the evap canistor plug, KS, CFK, etc, do I just leave em hanging , or pull it out completely ?, what do I do with those ?

No problem man.
If your running a p28 chipped or hondata leave em hanging or pull them back into the harness, or. chop them off with enough room to solder on later.
