Icon2 slammin a 91 hatch

hey guys, I'm currently looking into slamming my 91 civic hatch. Downside is i don't have much cash. I was trying to figure out the cheapest way to slam my car without cutting the suspension. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

you can use some cheapy ebay sleeves, but you're going to blow out your stock struts in no time. the ride will be horrendous, and you'll most likely regret doing it. instead of wasting money now, just save up until you can buy a decent setup the first time around.

also.. if you're gonna slam it, you're going to have to cut the shock towers.

yeah thats what my friend told me. he has a 92 civic hatch and hes got coilover sleeves on his stock struts. hes had it for just over 2 years and drives it daily and has yet to break anything on the car so....i might just go with the sleeves till i can get a full coilover set.

You're doing it wrong. And wasting your money. And wasting your time, which equals more money. Mod cheap = Mod twice

That's laughable. What kind of coilovers are you comparing to cut springs?

Get a set of Raceland Coilovers. they're inexpensive, easy to install, and they ride pretty good. I just put a set on my girls EM2 and she loves them. I think we paid $412 shipped to the door! Not bad for a full coilover setup.

raceland max drop is 3".. not enough if you're looking to slam it. mine is down 4" and it's not slammed.

well ill most likely just go with the raceland coilover for now because where i live it'd be better for my car, but once i move ill be able to slam it without having to worry bout scraping the bottom everytime i leave my house

yeah. my road use to be car friendly......until construction started. now they got new asphalt in certain places so its kind of a rough ride. unless you take the long way which is like 5 mins longer but its 15 mph faster and smoother roads.
