Default Modest lowering kits

Hey guys,
I bought my Civic with Eibach Pro-Kit springs on it, I've been driving it with blown shocks since I bought it and am wanting to change them. I'm going to get a less aggressive spring to change out at the same time I replace the struts. Does anyone know of perhaps a less expensive spring than the H&R OE's that I can go with? I believe it should be in my profile, but this is for a 1999 Civic Si.

The Pro-Kits are about 1.25 in. drop and the H&R OE's are about a 0.75 in. drop.

At the drop, the only other option that comes to mind is OEM CTR springs, but, they wont be nearly as cheap..

In my opinon, the OE's will be the cheapest... Buy them, and sell the old springs. that should help offset some of the cost.

If at all possible look around and see if you can find them used.

I'll definitely do some searching for used ones, unfortunately it seems if you want to be dropped less than an inch there isn't much variety to choose from. I'm just sick of having to take all the speed bumps and awkward driveways 'creatively'. Some of them it seems no matter what I do I still can't clear. Thanks for the tip and I'll keep my eyes open for some used H&R OE's.

what do you hate about the pro kit? Is it the ride height, or quality?

WIth these cars under 1'' of drop is pretty uncommon. Most got much lower. So yes, you choices are pretty limited.

I'm about 1-1.5 lower then you are now,and i have to be a little more careful to make sure i don't drag my lip. at the drop you are now, my life would be 2 times as easy.

Koni yellows and stock springs, drop the collar on the koni yellows and it will lower it about an inch while still maintaining the stock ride quality.

More so the drop, I can't speak to the ride quality due to the fact that my struts are blown, so it's like riding in a go-cart. I have 15 inch wheels on now, I'm just going to put 16's on after the new springs so I can refill that wheel gap. I also need new wheels because the rear passenger rim is bent, which makes driving at 60 MPH on the freeway unbearable. Making a long winded answer short, I've had the car for about nine months and still cannot get comfortable with the chassis height.

@Ryan K, that's a great idea I hadn't yet considered. I did a little research and it looks like the struts alone are close to five hundred dollars, sadly that's a little more than I'm able to spend. It looks like I'm going to have to go the H&R route. I've read the eBay coilovers are junk, is this true even for the ones in the $200 price range?

There's also the Tein H-Tech's which offer a pretty mild drop. Though maybe slightly lower than the H&R OE's, not sure..

Yes no name stuff on eBay is horrible. You will be wasting a ton of money if you go with something like the stuff found there. Stay away from the stuff..
