so i picked up a d16y8 today for $100 needs rings. went to look for the vin tag and there isn't one, or even a sign of the rivets where it gets attached to.

i looked on the back under the altenator bracket. My y7 has its vin in this location, but the y8 just has smooth metal, no rivits, or indentations or anything. motor is from a 97 ex too if that matters.
