Default Racing Calipers/Rotors

We current oval track racing a 2006 civic si and would like to run 13" rims. Does any know how this can be done ? knuckle change? aftermarket calipers/rotors?
thanks

I think 16" rims is smallest i have seen that will fit over late model si brakes. If it helps they were buddy club p1's

There are a select number of 15" wheels available to fit over the stock Civic Si's 300mm brakes.

If you mounted the 90-2000 Civic base calipers onto your knuckles, you might be able to get them to clear the 13" wheels. You would need to re-drill the rotors, and I am not sure if the 9.4" or 10.4" rotors will fit over your hub's OD.

OP - why do you want to run 13"?

steel wheels are the staple of an oval track race car. and 13" wheels/tires means an ultra-low final drive which means increased torque and thereby acceleration.

question: are you guys on dirt? or asphault?

advice: i'd see about fitting some 15x8's in a typical rwd offset/backspace. idk what rules are about tires being past the fenders, but it might not even end up poking out of the wells. and with a low offset like that, you'll stand a better chance of them fitting. beyond that, hybridize some honda fit brakes (smaller, don't know how much thought) or 88-00 civic dx brakes with custom brakets. but i can't guarantee the hubs will fit in the re-drilled rotors, and i can't guarantee the back of the knuckle won't keep the caliper from getting anywhere near the rotor.

Oh, I can read that he was gong to use the car on an oval track. 13" does not guarantee shorter gearing, but it is possible. What tires do the oval track guys use?

I find it funny that I ask why he wants to go to 13", and then you suggest 15" anyways. I am more and more out of touch on here.

because circle track!

and yes, running a 13" wheel would guarantee shorter gearing. especially if he's using circle track tires.

It does NOT guarantee it - THAT's the point I was tryng to make. It could lead to it, IF he bouught shorter tires than his OE stuff.

Hi Guys, Sorry I haven't been the forum for a while. There are two main reasons we want
to go to a smaller rim 1. Most tracks in Maine require 13 or 14" tires in the 4 cyl classes. We have been getting them to change their rules packages. 2. Weight, we are currently running 15" Basset Steel Racing Wheel with 705 American Racer Tires. We current weigh 2650lbs with driver & Fuel. We would like to get 2100lbs and by going to smaller rims & tires we feel we could shed up to 200lbs

You might try a wheel company called monoque (i think that is spelling) they have been bought by another company few yrs back, but the scca lotus i work on uses them and they are SUPER light and 13" 3pcs so offset/barrel can be changed to accommodate brake needs.
