I'm looking to buy a 91 si with no title. Does anyone have any tips or info on buying this car and getting the title? I've talked to the owner and he says the car is registered and insured thru him but he misplaced the title. If what he says is correct, what kind of precautionary measures should I go thru with to be sure it is a safe purchase. On the other hand, I can swap everything over to my STD hb. But that would suck, I'd rather have the original....

 

just tell the owner to get a reassigned title. if you really want it badly and it is a clean title, tell him your pay for the title too. would probably take a while for dmv to get it though.

 

Well shoot if it's like that, I want it more than I need it, wait naw, I need it, I gotta have it, lol. Yea I'm gonna check it out tomorrow n go over something's with him to make sure. Thx

 

yea, it's like that. if it's just a lost title get the owner to just re issue a new title. might be about $50 and almost a month. not sure though, call and ask your dmv also.

 

It all deepens on the state, here in oregon. I bought my first car, no title just a bill of sale walked into dmv told them the PO had lost the title heres my bill of sale (written on a back of a BK napkin) I just had to pay an extra 50 bucks to file for a lost title after the name transfer.
