Default Alternator question mini me with conversion harness

Here is the problem. I have a 91 civic wagon rt4wd. I have an obd2 y8 head on an a6 block. Im using a brand new alternator for the a6 but my battery light keeps coming on and the battey always dies and wont charge. The battery is a brand new optima yellow top for a jeep cherokee and is freakin huge.

I have the origional obd0 engine harness and i am using a rywire obdo-obd1 conversion harness with a p28 ecu. Should i be using an obd1 alternator? Or did i get a bunk alt from orielly auto? Should i buy a legit denso alt from the dealership?

The battery light also comes on when the rpms exceed 3500.
