Icon2 Rear sway bar issues

I installed my 21mm blox rear sway bar and I noticed that my car was about half an inch higher. You can tell because the lcs is angled more than before it`s installed. Here is a before and after shot:

And they are installed properly too:

And yes, I know that there are no top bolts. I need to get longer ones. My issue is, why the heck is my car higher with the bar connected? Did I miss something or do something wrong?

you're binding.

loosen bolts, put the full weight of the car on it, then tighten. do that with the bolts for your rear shocks too.

see how the links are titled toward the front of the car?

should not be like that.

sway bar should be near parallel to the chassis of the car asswell.

***-swell. see it?

links are binding and your car hates you.

EDIT: i thinks the sway bar is on upside down.

You shouldn't drive it with that top bolt missing anyway, you did the right thing. I'm guessing you tightened everything down with the car on jacks and the wheels in the air. You need to remove the preload as the previous responses said.

MonkeyMagic, the bar is in the correct orientation, that is how all of the factory ones go in. Otherwise, yes you are right. OP needs to get some spacers on those bolts where they go into the lca's.

P.S. you're going to hate those endlinks. Those chinese economy grade rod ends are garbage. Been there done that.

The endlinks are F7`s, so they should be decent..I hope. And yes, I did have the bolts tightened down, but only hand tight. I guess they need to be really loose when I drop the car? And as far as loosening the shock bolt, is that necessary as well?

hand tight should be fine.

by the book, after lowering the car's suspension, all the pivot points should be loosened with the weight of the car on the suspension or with the suspension adjusted to the normal ride height to allow the bushings to relax, then tighten.

cool

wasn't sure as from the pics those links just look really bunched up.. idk, i guess the kit sells every day so it should be able to be dialed in without getting drastic.

Yeah I thought the f7 links came with misalignment spacers. I swear they showed them in their pictures. I know I bought a set of the blox ones years ago, aside from the rod ends being worthless, they only came with some bolts, two washers, and eight nuts even though the pic showed them with the spacers. You really do need them to get things lined up nice.

interesting.. i wonder how those spacers affect the effectiveness (mind-splode) of the swaybar?

the further you place the swaybar's connection to the control arm from the plane of general motion of the control arm the more the swaybar will be trying to twist the control arm, rather than actually control suspension loads.

probably nearly irrelevant on a street car. lol whatever.
