Default Shift linkage binding with b series swap

Ok guys, i bought the car already swapped and just not running right. I redid all the wiring and got everything running good. The car is a 1990 civic std ef hatch with a b18c1 engine and jdm b16 tranny.

I can't get the car into 5th gear. It doesn't grind, just won't go in. all other gears work fine.

does it look like the shift linkage is connected wrong? sorry guys I'm not sure what linkage was used.

You can see marks on the linkage. Looks like it is binding against itself?

It's definitely hitting. It looks like the swivel joint is off 180 degrees. If it comes apart you can flip it over.

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm not sure how to remove it from the linkage.

That's a weird shift linkage kit.... Never seen so many bents on an EF body. Maybe it has the wrong shift linkage?

this.

usually the stay arm is pretty straight. maybe one slight bend, but nothing like what you have there.

I think someone assembled it wrong. You have to flip it, either with bolts or cutting and welding. Take a pic of the pieces at the shifter.

After looking at multiple pictures, I think it's gotta be flipped upside down. I'm gonna flip it this weekend and hope it fixes it.

so looks like the rubbing marks on the linkage are from shifting into reverse. I still can't get into 5th gear by shifting without the linkage. I put a screwdriver where the bitch pin goes and could get into every gear except 5th. I'm thinking a shift fork maybe broken or something.

If i try to shift into 5th it feels like I'm hitting a wall. No grinding or anything. After an attempt to shift to 5th all other gears seemed to be locked out until I move the shift all around like crazy. Then it will go into gear.

Any ideas on how to nail down the issue before I yank the transmission out?
