Default Best tire size on a 15x8??

Was wondering which tire size would be the best to go with on a 15x8 rim. From talking to others, people have said that I should be able to run a 205 no problem. I however thought I should run a 215 or 225. So should I run a 205, 215, or 225?? Just want a good tire size that I can daily and that will fit on a 15x8 rim.

an 8in wide wheel would run "square" with a 225. a 205 on an 8in wide wheel would get stretched... a 205 would run square on a 7in wide wheel. i'm not sure if they make performance tires in a 215, but 205 & 225 are all over the place. of course, if you need a tiny/thin aspect ratio, a 205/50 is "thinner" than a 225/50

It isn't that simple.

A 205/50-15 isn't rated for use on an 8" wide wheel (stretched).
A 205/40-16 is rated for use on an 8" wide wheel (not stretched).

OP, you're doing it wrong. First decide on the tire size for the car, then buy wheels that support the intended tire size.

And no one can make tire size suggestions without know what car they are intended to be used on.

Curious how a 205/40-16 is rated for an 8" wide rim yet a 205/50-15 is not?? when both of their tire widths are both 205mm. Only difference you posted in those two tire sizes is the side wall on the 50 is 10mm bigger than the 40 and that the 16 is one inch bigger than the 15 of course. Explain if you don't mind.(here to learn more)

I've got a 92 Integra GSR (DB2). I checked on G2IC and the guys there all agree a 15x8 will fit no problem, I just may have to do some fender rolling which I knew from the get go. I'm also sure I will probably have to remove the wheel well lining as well to avoid rubbing.

This is how I would like my DB2 to sit. This car has the same size rims 15x8s. Just trying to figure out what size tire to go with before I spend the money to do so.

all said and done, it really ends up being the tire manufacturer's call. you just have to check there recommendations per the specific tire/size.

links don't work except for you.

the tire fitment will depend on the offset though. if the car is 4 lug you'll be essentially stuck with a lower offset and a skinnier tire.

more info needed, but that should give you a good start.

Ok thanks that helps, and I am four lug as well.

Was afraid of them not working for yall, signed out and tried it and it worked for me but just tried again and it didn't. Here this should work better.
These rims are 15x8 +20 and the rims I want the highest offset they make in them is the same, 15x8 +20. Like stated before I want my car to sit just like this. Oh and I have camber kits to do so as well.

what suspension are you running? if it's an ots ground control rate or a lowering spring.. and you want it to sit just like that car, you may find it too soft and have a couple ofawk moments turning into a gas station or a parking lot too quickly if it has any kind of jump between surfaces. but i think you'll be ok.. as in, i'd let my gf drive it without worry.

92 gsr though.. nice find. not many of those left on the road i'd imagine.

Ok thanks for the help. I'm most likely going to be running slightly higher than this DA, I like function over form but still like form as well. If I don't like the ride quality on it since its a daily, I'll just raise it/adjust till I'm happy. Suspension I will be running is S2 sport shocks with Ground Control sleeves, S2 front camber kit and BWR rear camber kit (for the time being). All parts will be brand new as well. My last DA had this exact setup on it minus the offsets, was on ls mesh, and I loved the setup.

Thanks. Yeah not too many you see, plus to make mine a little more unique it's got the XSi B16A in it. So a stock motor for the body style just not stock in the US.
