I tried the search already, nothing.
I have an opportunity to pick up a 95 Si hatch for cheap, and was wondering what the differences were between the 95 and 92 Si. I know the 95 had dual air bags, and I heard the 95 was heavier. I know the Si's are the heaviest to begin with but I do like all the options it comes with.
My plans are to do a swap B18C5, and I had really been looking for a 92 Si.

I'd recomend checking out one of my favorite sites:
http://www.edmunds.com
You can check out specs on every car for every model year. That site will be able to tell you the differences in weight and safety features.
Hope that helps.

as far as i know the 92si did not come with rear speaker panels, passenger side airbag and the side mirrors were in black...92si did come with rear disc.
Both do have rear disks. Is there a specific reason you want the Si, because i can tell you from personal experience and I'm sure Tom (b18c5-eh2) will back me up, save your money and get a VX or CX. I have a 94 Si right now and wish i would have held out for a CX or VX because of weight and money. Just my 2cents

EDIT: I just realized your in WA too. You better not find my EH2 before me!
I know the DX weights a little more? Can the weight be deducted, or is it body/chassis weight? I hate the black trim on the DX, Si. Do those have holes underneath? Would I just be able to buy a 92 wiring harness, (prewired vtec) or would it be too expensive?
Sorry to "butt-in" your post, but maybe you will benefit from this as well.

They are hard to find (CX, VX) because of what i call "SWAP-MANIA". The DX would be cool if you can find it for a good price. The DX and Si both have side moldings which i am not fond of. I think that is what you are talking about by the "trim" and yes they do have holes underneath, nice fat rectangular holes. The DX is a little better than the Si because it has no sun-roof (screw aminities) and therefor has a stiffer chasis and less weight. If the DX has cargo cover (not sure) that can be easily removed for weight. Also power steering equip., A/C, ..... and not sure what else that makes the CX and VX lighter. Possibly the OEM wheels they are weighed with? I dunno
This is kind of O/T but did 95 EX coupes have rear disc?
I have seen yes, but at the same time no.
Please enlighten the dumb.

Some did. I've only personally seen one, but i think any of the ones that came with ABS had rear-disks, but i'm not 100% on that. But i know it was available from the factory for sure

Thanks, I might just wait it out. I would really like a black or teal one anyway.

when i first started lookin for my Hb i wanted a Si they are so hard to find! here at least. but i ended up with a 94 cx i am very happy now that i got the cx becasue of weigt i didnt think it made much of a differance if the weight was only 300 pounds diff. im not fast yet but i am building a Ls vtec right now. think about if you gutted the dx and gutted the cx i think the cx would still be lighter but im not sure!

Ok heres the deal, I have a chance to pick up a 95 si for dirt, It is in stock condition (mint) was totaled by the insurance company, the person who had it was driving behind a construction truck and a basketball sized rock fell off the truck and landed on the windshield and drivers side A pillar.
I will try to get picks up, but also was wondering is it worth picking up, The pillar is what I am really concerned about, I know its hard for you guys to assess the damage without seeing it, so if any of you guys work in a body shop or had this kind of work done before can let me know if it is viable.

Salvage titled vehicles aren't worth **** if you ever try to sell it. That's why it's so cheap.
As far as differences between the 1992 and the 1995, there aren't too many.
As others have touched on the main differences are:
1. 1992 has unpainted mirrors and side grilles in the front bumper - 1995 has those painted.
2. 1995 had optional ABS. This adds weight to an already heavier hatch.
3. The setas have a different pattern on them. 1992 had black/grey onyl, while 1995 had rainbow weaves in the seats. The arm rests are diff. material on the cars too.
4. The 1995 has Integra-Sized front brake rotors. The 1992 Civic has smaller front rotors. BOTH have 4-wheel discs.
5. The 1995 has a bigger/better brake master cylinder, but again it's not a big difference.
As far as other **** like A/C, rear speakers, etc. go those could be the same or different depending on whether the dealer added certain options to each car.
I'll echo from experience:
Don't get an Si if you're concerned with being the quickest for less money. A CX/VX and DX model will be lighter and faster in the end.
