Icon2 CRX SI STARTING PROBLEM

I have a 1989 Honda crx si, I bought it with the cylinder head off and various missing parts. It was sitting in a guys garage for 4 years. I put everything back together but I had to relocate the battery to the back to install my aftermarket intake. So I don't know if my relocate started the problem or not since I never ran it with it under the hood.

Anyway, my problem is if its real hot outside or I've been driving a while and I go to start it, it will just crank. The check engine light stays on and the fuel pump doesn't kick on. After it sits for a bit and I turn the key off and on a bunch of times the fuel pump kicks on and the check engine light goes off then it starts no problem. I thought it might be a ground issue so I ran a ground cable from the battery back to the front where the original ground was. It seems like that helped for a while but now its doing it again.

Any ideas?

Default Re: CRX SI STARTING PROBLEM

Start by resoldering the main relay and cleaning/tightening the g101 ground on the thermostat housing.
