Default civic ex with abs, ecu change question

so i just bought a 93 civic ex coupe and its got 4 wheel disk brakes and 4 wheel abs. its also got a dual cam obd1 zc, however its still got a p28 ecu. doe anyone know if changing to a pm7 or pg7 ecu will affect the abs? and if so how it would affect it?
any answers are much appreciated and thanks for reading!

do the modules need to communicate with one another or does the abs module just collect data directly from the wheel speed sensors?
