Throttle Body Question, Need expert advice with experiance
I am looking into buying a new throttle body and through the research i have done it looks like im gonna go with the 70mm tb alpha skunk2 series. it appears to have everything there and the plate is made of brass too.
When i purchase the throttle body im obviously planning to bore out my skunk2 intake manifold to match the new throttle body but that prob wont be for a lil while since im too lasy to take off the whole intake manifold.
so now for my real question
if my current intake and exhuast setup in order is:
compressor outlet 51mm -to-charge piping 63.5mm -to- throttle body 60mm -to-64mm intake manifold bore -to- 76mm exhuast mandrel.
if i were to bolt the 70mm tb like a noob before i bore the intake manifold and changed the airpath to:
51mm to 63.5mm to 70mm to 64mm and then finally to 76mm exhuast, would this produce a smoother current or more hp then my current setup.
im picturing this in my head by blowing through a straw and i think the 70mm setup would be better but im not sure if my logic is right

hmmm with the current setup the air has to go from 63.5 diameter to a 60mm which is a 3.5mm difference in turbulence vs the new option that goes from 70mm to 64 which is a 6mm difference of turbulence but through a larger opening.

yea ls turbo 20 psi, thats why im trying to maximize my airflow as best as i can. i will port match it later. im trying to learn how to port with uncle but he not around yet

Not true, it's the motion in the ocean that counts... at least that is what I tell myself.
OP - You are WAY overthinking this is the WRONG direction. Without getting into it, just use the Skunk2 66mm Alpha Series Throttle Body and call it a day. The throttle body isn't as much about power as it is to throttle response. Intake manifolds mainly shift power band as long as there isn't a restriction or the setup isn't TOO big. A properly matched setup is more important than saying "size matters". When the ricer crowd was first getting started, it was "awesome" to put a 1,589mm throttle body on a D16A6 because it gained "mor p0wA"... Get with the times.
PS - There are many "How-TO" videos on the YouTube on porting and matching throttle bodies.
PSS - I would LOVE to see you blow through a 70mm straw... also if you REALLY thought about your anology, you would find the error in your thinking.
