Icon6 Yet another fuel issue -__-

Ok so recently I've had a fuel pump problem in my 91 DX hatch, first it died so I towed it home and while banging on the tank I got it to fire up and I drove it for a while then it died again, so I towed it home yet again and while dropping the tank I found the great "access" hole the previous owner cut in the floor -__- well any way I played with the wires and the Pump turned on, so assuming there was a break in the wire I ran new wires from the pump to the harness by the sending unit, well car ran fine but after drivin it for about 40 minutes I stopped by my freinds house, as I was going to leave it wouldn't start, so I was able to work on it at his house I assumed it was the pump because I hooked it straight to the battery while it was still in the tank and it wouldn't do anything, so after one EF pump that didn't work at all, an EG pump that I stupidly broke, another EF pump that turned on but wouldn't pump gas, to a '96 Chevy 4.3 vortec pump that sorta worked, to finally a pump out of a '99 Si with 60,xxx on the car, put it all together and it ran fine, now the reason I was using used pumps were, the was a pretty cheap car to begin with and I wanted to keep it that way, also the fall semester was about to start and I needed to watch were I budgeted it, so I finally got it fixed and it ran fine, i commuted most of the week 180 miles round trip, purred like a kitten the whole time, so today I wanted to show a little love to my civic, so I did a full oil change, topped of all the fluids, checked all the lights, swept it out, got my accord lip fitted, got my sidemarkers cut, pretty much brand new tires for it, washed it, and even bought her a strawberry little tree, and after all that now the fuel pump won't turn on, i didnt get a chance to hook it up to the battery to see if it pumps, so what I'm asking is if anyone else had a similar problem to mine, I'm at my whits end with this fuel issue I'm assume that pump is still good due to the low miles so I was thinking about just hooking it straight up to a toggle switch, has anyone on here hooked their fuel pump up to a toggle swith in their street car? And if they did how did it run/reliability, and Ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, the semester started so I need my car and this problems making me pull my hair out, so thanks guys

What CEL codes are blinking from the ECU?

Have you resoldered the main relay?

Make sure you at least hook it up to a fuse and wire it to your main 12V+ igniton switch that way it doesn't run while your key is not in. I got my wiper blades and fan motor hooked up by toggle switch .

I don't have a check engine light on, and to be honest I never heard of resoldering the main relay so I'll check that out, but i did have 2 main relays that i tried today but I have no idea if they both are even. Id really rather hook it up to a toggle and be done with it at this point

How would I hook that to the ignition system? And do you mean put a fuse in it as in an inline fuse In the wiring? Or to get power from a fuse? What's wrong with just going to the battery

Resolder the main relay. Also clean the G101 ground on the thermostat housing. If the problem persists, swap in a known good ECU.

Don't do this. It's a safety hazard to you and your passengers. If you are in an accident, you don't want the fuel pump running when the car is stopped.

Ok I'll try the resoldering the main relay, and checking the grounds, I know hooking it up to a toggle isn't the best idea in the world but I want to kno if it would work in a pinch because I NEED to get to school

I would never advocate removal or modification of a safety system.

I really hope that soldering the main relay work then, and couldn't I hook it up to a fuse or something that would kill it if the motor died

This^ would be MUCH more work and expense and also would be less safe than just fixing the system the way it was intended to work.

I'd love to fix it the original way, I'm just asking about the switch if it can't be fixed the original way right now for a decent price, I have toggle switches, wire, tape wire ends, etc so it wont really cut into my wallet to hard, I need to watch that for the next couple months

ive decided against the toggle switch idea, im having my freind re solder both my main relays for me while im at school this week, and im going to pick up another ecu just in case, ive noticed you said clean the g101 ground on the thermostat housing, this may seem like a dumb question but why is that ground the only one that would cause the fuel pump to not work? do any of the other grounds affect it?
