Default MY PERSONAL AMR COILOVERS REVIEWS

alright after doing alot of research during the winter months i finally pulled the trigger and ordered this coils, i pretty much found this coils from this thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/click-here-all-you-curious-about-suspension-setups-their-costs-reliability-2967499/ after researching and googling the reviews, seems like everybody who has this gave them a 2 thumbs up.

talked to andy around march to setup what i wanted and paid him, he told me that it will take 5 weeks to finish his custom coils. ok cool it's during winter time so i'm not in a hurry to get it. after 5 weeks or so i waited another week and called them to get some updates with my coils, he told me that they run out of the hypercoil springs and don't have a ETA for this. something about another business bought all the hypercoil springs. but he did gave me an option of getting swift springs for an additional fee . i told him that i would just wait until they stock up for the hypercoils thinking to myself that it would take maybe a week or 2 for it boy was i wrong . fastforward today after 6 months of waiting i finally got my coils actually i got it last friday 8/24/2012 i was at work and the wife called me on my cell that it finally arrived . got home and see this in my living room

open the box and this is what i get
http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7853862980/http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7853862980/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/73064203@N05/, on Flickr
seriously when i first open the box and saw this i'm thinking to myself that they should have at least bubble wrap this things i'm pretty dissapointed by this, i paid good money and i expect to at least put some care shipping my coils

checking the coils, looking at the craftsmanship it does look good to what other people are saying
http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865266032/http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865266032/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/73064203@N05/, on Flickr

looking at the springs itself the front coils have all the numbers but for the rears there was none at all that i found. i'm dissapointed that there was no numbers in the rear how do i know that they put the right spring rate i ordered
http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865285778/http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865285778/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/73064203@N05/, on Flickr

got the ***** and perch for it
http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865295738/http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865295738/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/73064203@N05/, on Flickr

admiring the coils i found this , when i buy anything brand new i expect to have a flawless products

http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865278798/http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865278798/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/73064203@N05/, on Flickr

here you can somewhat see that the spring near the top looks like it has rust maybe the powder coater guy miss it who knows , call me **** but if i spend good money i better recieved a good *** product

http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865271092/http://www.flickr.com/photos/73064203@N05/7865271092/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/73064203@N05/, on Flickr

that's it for right now, will be installing this next weekend and will updates how the ride is. stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks

Maybe before you start a posting to dog someone out perhaps you should get on the phone and call them so they can make it right.

Dislike.

Sounds like it to me.

HTF do I know what Andy is gonna tell you? How do YOU know what he is or is not going to do? I'm not a fortune teller but you didn't even give him a chance to address it BEFORE you posted this crap up bitching about cosmetics. I can call it anyway I see it, "buddy".

Double dislike.

you got it all wrong grumble just posting my opinion not bitching just saying how i see my product and to be honest man don't feel like talking to them anymore. everytime i called them before about updates they keep saying "within the end of the week you'll get it" i just got sick of that same answer so i didn't even bother calling them anymore and they actually send my product after 6 months.

Your dissappointed that their are no numbers on the springs LOL. Did you know that HYPERCO just started to laser etch their springs with their new batch of springs? Did you know that the old springs simply had stickers on THEM JUST LIKE SWIFT!!

Hyperco springs are ENGRAVED on the top of the spring. I can't imagine having sent you ones without an engraving, my gosh. A simple phone call or pm would have been more than sufficient. I simply told you what Hyperco told us, PERIOD! I had already told you plenty of times that your coilovers had been fully assembled other than springs for months. The other reason why Hyperco is severely back ordered on springs is because they have new equipment that is yet to be operational, and their new batch of springs will have the new laser etched numbers on them. The front springs are not from the laser etched batch. That little spot on the springs are normal as the person that powdercoated it placed the hanger on that spot. Your coilovers arrived PERFECT, and as they should. No rust on the springs, they ARE BRAND NEW, straight from Hypercos new batch!! BTW, the person that bought all Hyperco springs was US. They are still on backorder, and will continue to be on backorder for the next 6-8 weeks. This is our of our control, we have placed our order with them..all we can do is patiently wait as Hyperco is our spring of choice.

Thanks for your patience in allowing us to get the proper rates from Hyperco, and also allowing us the time to remake the top hats since they were machined incorrectly. Have a good weekend.

I have to admist, when my coils arrived i was pretty displeased with how they were shipped, i sorta expected them to be bubble wrapped or something, i too had wear marks on the coils from them rubbing in their boxes.

however, i didnt care. had i waited 5-6 months for them, then i would have.

No we ran out because Hyperco could no longer fill our orders. So what we did then was switch from 2.5 ID springs to 60mm ID springs which we designed our collars to utilize. So we ended up purchasing ALL their 60mm, AND 2.5ID springs in 350-650lbs..hence cleaning them out, and purchasing their entire stock. Our order at that time was for over 100 pc of springs, and we ofcourse needed more, but they couldn't even fill 1/3 of that. Now they are still on backorder, and Hyperco is doing their best to fill our backorders, and get us back to stocking the most popular rates we use.

As for the boxes, I had a boxing company actually come in and design our boxes so that they would allow us to package our products quickly. As I said before we don't got pretty boxes, no pretty stickers..I have been doing this for over a decade, and have always entrusted our packaging to professionals. In 8 years of shipping shock absorbers we have NEVER filed a single claim, nor have had a damaged product. Now if they were not in their own boxes then we would ofcourse package them, and wrap them. But they are in their own boxes for a reason. The thickness, as well as the material was specifically chosen for our dampers so they would no be damaged, or scratched. Any objects that could be damaged or bent are packaged seperately such as the adjustment *****, and adjustment tool. Now I made that same assumption myself till I hired a professional box company to come in. I appreciate the feedback, and have made a mental note of it. Thank you everyone for your support, and hope everyone has a great weekend.

This thread is comical lol.

OP - You're concerned about a tiny little cosmetic nick on your springs when you're sticking these in your fender wells and they'll get battered by rocks, caked in dirt, etc. My AMRs were packaged the same exact way, they came, I installed them, and have held up perfectly ever since installation day. Installation day was in June, 2010.

Now, go install them, go for a test drive, and report back to us.

So you were going on and on and on about late arrival of parts. And now your too busy to put them on. Seems like you should be more **** about actually working on your car, rather than spending all this time on HT. I'm just saying.

you wouldn't be mad if you buy something from someone and that person said it will be on your door step at the end of the week but took a month to finally come in? And that person keep saying at the end of the week it will be there?. your not worried about thinking the guy might have pulled a fast one on you?. i'm just happy I finally got the stuff I bought 6 months ago. So yes I can wait another week to install it cuz I know I physically have them in my house

Yeah. This doesn't sound like bitching at all.
If I read this thread correctly you had an option in which you could have gotten your setup early by swapping springs but you chose to wait. Seems you like to tell a slanted tale and when confronted by the person you're slandering, change your story.

You got your coilovers. Stop rehashing the sob story.

Triple dislike.

Agreed. The proper tittle for this thread should have been. "AMR COILOVERS UNBOXING" there is no review on the coilovers other than cosmetic, and a wait time. I understand the frustration of having to wait. Everyone here has been through that or something similar. But this is what you sound like and thats annoying. Im just saying.

In closing. Pull an all nighter. get friends help. call in sick to work. whatever. just get the coilovers installed and move on.

yea, i have to agree. theres not much of a review on the parts themselves.

i waited longer than quoted for my coils as well (missed the last auto-x session due to the fact, as well as a couple appointments to have the car corner balanced and aligned after install), but the first thing i did was not make a misleading thread about it.

i got mine installed and have driven on them, not spirited however so i cant give a review on their performance.

suck it up, install them or quite pissing and moaning.

this is true grumble but i didn't know at the time that it will take A LONG *** TIME to get hyperco springs that's why i chose to waited it out. i would think they would have it like a week or two. if you read the other thread andy even said that he didn't realize it took that long also. so please stop thinking i'm slandering anyone here
