I have a euro spec 94 del sol bone stock but it has a Original Honda immobiliser in it and I have to hold the key up to the dash to a blinking red light in order to start the car. It looks like it wasnt installed at the factory though, maybe a dealership? I didnt know hondas this old had them. Im just wondering if it is in the ECU like the newer Hondas, I cant find anything about immobilisers in hondas this year.
I have never seen what you are describing in a Honda this age before. I do have a friend with a 1993 Del Sol that you have to push the rear defrost button before you could start the car. I thought that was pretty neat and thought I would share.

I spoke with the dealership today and they said the immo is not in the ECU in the obd1, it's tied into the ignition some how. It does look like a dealership rigged it up professional though.
