So my speedometer is not working and I been told that I just need to change the speed sensor, jw if that is wat I need to replace or no?

 

So if my speed sensor don't work will v-tec still engage? Cause I pushed it a while ago and didn't hear v-tec gonna change the speed sensor tonight and c wat happens

 

ivtec will not work if your speedo is not working. Make sure the plug is snapped in all the way, sometimes that's it. If it still is not working try swapping with another.

OK so I took out the speed sensor and it didn't look the same as the one Acura gave me part number 28820-pwr-013. I looked up tat part number up and it seem to me like its the crank.position sensor? Now i been searching for info and have heard/read tat the 02-04 speed sensor are different from the 05-06 cause of the low/high frequency, but do they differ in appearance as well? Where should the speed sensor b located on the 05-06 compare to the 02-04? Please help me out don't wanna find out that I have a different tranny or worse different/older motor as well

 

OK this is the part number for the 02-04 rsx type s speed sensor 78410-S6M-N01. Tats the part I need but for the 05 rsx type s. I can't seem to find any info or part number on it or did they switch and dont use tat style of speed sensor on the 05-06 rsx

 

05-06 RSX has a completely different speed sensor so you cannot use one from a 02-04 RSX

 

02-04's use a mechanical vss driven off the the differential in the back of the trans. 05-06's use a magnetic vss with readings taken from 3rd gear i believe in front. they are not interchangeable and do not look the same.

you need part #28820-PWR-013. number 22 below.

 

OK so since my tranny has the mechanical vss tat means my tranny has been swap to a 02-04 tranny

 

Gonna call up the guy who I bought it from and c wat he say will.sucked to.find out it has been swapped

 

check the vin on the tranny against the one on your car

 

Sorry kinda new to the rsx scene but where will the vin b on the tranny? Will.check in the morning

Also the sensor is magnetic I would pull it to check it first for debris...

 

Yea I pulled the speed sensor out Wednesday night and it was located in the back its not magnetic

 

Damn one problem after another I think my rsx jump timing today its bogging or could it b something lse?

 

you would throw a code if timing was off

 

Wat code? My check engine light is on due to the speed sensor. Wen I step on the gas it will go fine than it'll start to lagg or jerk as if something is clogged, than sometimes if I just pushed the pedal harder it will catch an go but samething again
