Default RockAuto.com...?

Has anyone ever used RockAuto.com? They look like they have some great prices. I just got my first Honda('96 Accord EX)...tryin to get it running back in stock condition before anything else. Looking for a decently priced parts place that's reputable...thanks ahead for any input.

They definitely do have really great prices and their service is great but the only downside is the shipping charges. Its really bad if you order many different things from different warehouses, you get different charges for each item then. The key there is to only buy things from the same warehouses; the online catalog has a feature so you can do this.

Thanks...didn't know that. I just assumed it all shipped from the same place. Any more suggestions on decent priced parts suppliers for stock items?

You just need to play around with the catalog to try to get most parts from the same warehouse, you can change the quantity to 0 to help determine which parts are cheaper there versus at Autozone or Oreilly etc.

Great. Gotta get a timing belt kit, valve cover gasket, etc...Not sure what head and valves are looking like yet. Gonna have to find a place to borrow a compression gauge. I just bought the car from the previous owner for $400. Timing belt broke driving down highway...F22B1...

HAHA i just wrote up about picking items from the same shipping location to save $$... then actually read the replies saying the same thing... DUH!! I certainly stand by rockauto.. but YES it is worth the time to manipulate your order to ship from the same warehouse.. I did my LX timing belt a few weeks ago and bought my kit from these guys on eBay... Good prices and good service http://stores.ebay.com/Spark-AutoParts .. they made sure to check my make/model before shipping and the parts are good!

I think this is what you want: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Goodyear-Gat...aba1ac&vxp=mtr

35 bucks for all that even beats RockAuto... Be sure to double check before you buy!

RockAuto is great sometimes, I still occationally find a better price on something through the big local parts houses but for the most part they are worth a little shipping to buy from.

There is a 5% off coupon code always around to use to get a little more off to.

Just have to watch what warehouse parts are shipping from if you order more than 1 thing. If they split the warehouses items whip from, you pay shipping for each.

Rock auto is good and cheap but if you want something comparable to rockauto, go to www.1AAuto.com

They're supposed to be pretty good too.

108844546367672 enter it into the how did you hear about us box ... good till oct 21 2012

I love rock auto, just make sure to buy from the same shipping location. Also I love the magnets they send sometime I have something like 30 of them. I picked up a new brake master cylinder for my CRX for 12 bucks. Was suppose to be something like 100+ dollers but was on closeout.

Love those guys... cheap prices... fast shipping... & awesome customer service. You should see my order history. I always get the 5% discount too. Only suggestion I can make is to make sure you double check your order before submitting it. I just recently ordered the wrong window regulator for my accord & I had to pay return shipping to get my refund.

I ordered an O2 sensor and a catalytic converter from Rock Auto. The shipment arrived quickly. I would recommend them. They have good quality parts at great prices.

Shipping is bad for sure. I had purchased a motor mount for my 98 Acura CL, and they shipped the wrong one. So, i called them and they acted like it was my fault, that i had ordered teh wrong part. Turns out, the people that manufacturered the parts, had sent the wrong part, under the wrong name. Long story short, this had happened to more than one person, so they eventually called me, as they had researched the problem. Apoligized, then refunded the purchase price, and shipping both ways. As they had made me previously pay to ship it back. But it was a 3 week ordeal, before i finally got my money back.

Then to add insult to injury, I had to end up buying the part from acura. Ouch.
