Default Can way oversized fueling and turbo be detuned??

Ok guys,
Currently I have a 00 ek with a bone stock Jdm b16a in it. I want to start a semi long-term project with the end result being a 550-650 street/track car. I want to start all the fitment and fab on the car first. So what I'm saying is I want to get the turbo kit and all the fueling in the car with the stock b16. I was probably going to go with a fuel cell and a a1000 pump and 1000cc injectors. For the turbo probably a Pte 5862 or a. Pte 6262. Obviously there is alot more to it then that. But u get the gist of where I'm going. I was only gonna run 5lbs on the stock motor.

So my question is not weather or not the motor can handle it. That isn't really a concern to me. But my question is can the way over sized fueling be detuned enough to actually have this setup run correctly, while I'm building a motor? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've just never come across this before.

Is this a serious post? 1,000cc injectors aren't exactly considered "big" anymore. Soo to answer your oddly worded question - Yes.

the basic rule of thumb is about 250-300 HP and stock internals for a safe DD... granted you can go higher and be find or lower and blow. its how good the tune is. should be fine all around.

either one of those turbos on a b16 @ 5psi is going to suck *** and be so laggy you won't want to drive the car.... hope you enjoy making full boost @ almost 7k (thats 5psi on a b16 with a 6262) in 4th gear....

Yes I know this. Like I said I will be building a motor. I'm planing on a ls/v sleeved. The whole 9.

I don't get why people have to be dicks. I thought this was a pretty legit question. An a simple yes or no. Sorry I don't know a whole lot about the technical part of injectors. Like duty cycles and all that. I pretty much figured that the tuner could adjust the duty cycle down. Id rather just ask before I go spend the money on something. (even if the question sounds dumb) I just wasn't %100 sure.

Pretty much the whole point of this is to have the car set up for the power that I want. Then when the motor is built I will simple drop it in. Then break it in. And I can simple turn up the boost and start tuning.

Wait, did I miss something? What is wrong with that??? Haha, been doing it that way for years.

To quote an infamous excerpt, "when you are running lean you are making more power"... haha!

First off let me say sorry. I think this ended up being more of a tuning question then a FI question.

Second. Thank u "N3va" for simple answering yes.

I am deffinently no tuner obviously! So I don't know exactly what can and can't be done. I hope there is nothing wrong with trying to learn something.

even with an 82mm ls.vtec you won't see full boost (10psi) until roughly 6500... so unless you're building a drag car they really aren't any fun to drive on the street

My 83mm gt35r is fun to drive on the street. In hind sight I may have gone a little smaller a 30r or 5857. The late boost is nice you can drive normal but when you want the power its there.

The most ridiculous statement I have ever heard, yet one of my all time favorites...

Me - Puzzled, I ask - "That turbo is pretty big for that engine, why in the world did you choose that one?"

Guy - With all sincerity - "Because I could".

Fuel setup should be fine for what you're wanting to do. I would suggest getting a properly sized turbo for your stock motor though, you'll enjoy it a lil more. Good example is my lil bro is planning on a built k24/k20 motor for his rsx. In the meantime he decided to turbo his stock k20. He didn't want to have to buy anything twice so he went ahead with the precision 6266. It's still a blast to drive even only on 8psi, but it definatly comes on a lil late and fast once it does. Woulda been alot more enjoyable with a 5858 or gt30.

a lot of ppl here are ignorant. ignore them because you won't get away from that here. deal with it.

all I can say is: ask yourself a question. what setup do YOU like? how would you like it to drive? what will you be using the car for? Drag or time-attack? etc...

If this is to be a street car there is no point in using a 700hp turbo. You can't hook it up. You can always sell your turbo if you need to go bigger. Get something that can make good power. Something to keep in mind... boost is irrelevant. I am making 360whp on a 84.5mm gsr on 7-8psi with a GTX3071r.

Like the others, choose a proper sized turbo. If this is going to be a drag strip only car go for it but you will want more then 1000cc of fuel.

we build 700hp street cars on the regular i dont know what you guys are talking about. setup correctly they hook up just fine and dominate anything else out there. as for the op's question i tuned a stock rsx recently that was planning on installing his turbo kit in the near future so he put 1000cc injectors in it and an aem series 2. he wanted it to drive decent so he could get it back to me without towing it after he got his kit figured out. the car performed like it had factory injectors after a little tuning. so to answer your question without throwing in all kinds of assholish remarks yes you will be just fine as long as you have a decent tuner.

my old lsv 81mm 9.5/1 compwith top mount and old *** 60-1 with stg5 backwheel turbos good for about 600whp and does not spool nearly as fast as 6262! cruzin on the highway in 5th gear hits 22lbs by 4500 rpm!and on street tires car hit 20lbs in 1nd gear. was my dd for more than 2 years
so dont beleave people who tell you wont spool its bs

theres no way a 6262 spools faster than a 60-1... i've seen dynos and seen peoples reports on lags on every from b16s to 84mm ls/vtecs, with the .82 turbine housing they are lazier than ****

and theres no goddamn way a 60-1 makes 20psi is 1st gear..... get back down to earth

Bone stock gsr hits full boost on 6262 just about when vtec pops. Would be a bit laggier on a b16.

U have no idea what ur talkin obout my turbo was used by a friend for an event he has a 6262 and it blew up on the way from the dyno and my car was down so i lets him use it an it spooled almost 800 rpm later and i have the biggest 60-1 they make 3 diffent back wheels whith i have the biggest one the back wheel is bigger than than 6262 so unless u have experince with both turbos dont talk i bet u have little *** turbo in fact what turbo r u useing
and as far as 20lbs in first 1st i have a da with hokes compered to most car on street tireas car runs a best of 8.4 at 99 street tires no boostby gear just a real driver so u can suck it stop hatin he asked for segestions and he want a fast honda not somr thing that hits boost instly and just spins the tires and not go any where
