Default a2 swapped ep3, ecu question

So I swapped the a2 into my ep3 and it started right up. I took it down the road and babied it and it was much more responsive than the a3 in it previously. I have expectations of going boost, so I know I will need Kpro one day. However, I've done some research and found out that I really don't need Kpro for the car to run right, right now. Is it true that if I buy an RSX Type S ECU with an immobilizer, that the motor would run safe? I've read to not take it over 3k rpm the way it sits right now. Wanna drive it but don't wanna risk blowing it up.

Any input would be appreciated!!

EDIT: I did follow this post, and also read about having the key reprogrammed, but I called the local Honda dealership and they said they would not do it. https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-rsx-dc5-honda-civic-ep3-32/everything-you-need-swap-k20a2-into-ep3-2410236/. "-RSX-S ecu (use EP3 until you get your key reprogrammed to ECU by Acura/Honda, keep RPM's low until while using EP3 ECU) Costs 0.5 hours of Acura's time - $55 and some cents for me."

Did you try asking an acura dealership? If you don't have the paperwork to show that you got the motor and ECU in a legit way, then they won't do it. All you need is the 02-04 RSX-S ECU or k-pro. Why did you swap in a K20A2 if have no ECU to run it?

Haha well I got the motor for $350 from a friend and it sat for a while so I got bored and decided to put it in. I did find an ECU for it today for $100. I called the Honda dealership and talked to a different person in service today and he said they would reflash the type S ecu for me and that I don't need the immobilizer. Hopefully this works!

It should run no problem, just remember you WILL need k-pro once you start doing some heavy modding

I guess it Just doesn't make sense to me that you have to reflash the rsx type s ecu but you can't reflash the stock ecu to make it work with the a2 motor?

Actually you could... Hondata offers k100, which would allow you to run your PNF ecu. Its cheaper than a Kpro. Go to there website and check them out or just give them a call. WWW.hondata.com.

^K100 is not available in the US and it costs $600...might as well spend the extra $300 and get K-pro

Just an update:

I spent $100 on the reflash through the dealership and the car runs great. The only issue that I have is vtec doesn't engage until almost 7k RPM. This was all just temporary though so I could get the car moving. Going kpro soon as some upgrades come in the mail. Thanks HT!!
