I always dread having to build radiators and i have a couple to make this weekend. I have done a few in the past but always seems like i never get the header around the core clean enough. Seems like no matter where the core comes from they always have that coating on them, looks like galvanizing or something. What tips or experiences do you guys have? Also where do you guys prefer to get your cores?

 

clean it, clean it, clean it. fo you have a picture of what you're talking about? It could be resdiual brazing material from when they assembled the cores.
