i have a stock d15b2 single cam four speed trans. id like to swap to a vtec and i was thinking about swaping to a b16a1. but ive been hearing alot about these single cam mini swaps. what would i need to do this swap with my motor and do you think it would be cheaper then just switching to a b16?

for the b16 swap you would need a new motor tranny mounts harness compared to a mini me all you need is a new head and ecu i would sagest z6 head im and dizzy and p28 ecu you can wire vtec up your self its not that hard there are many good write ups out there from this point google is your best friend

 

Well no matter which route u do your going to have to convert from dpfi to mpfi there are plenty of write ups online on how to do this with a b16 your also going to have to add a knock sensor which isn't difficult either. With a mini me swap you must find a single cam vtec head like a z6 or y8 take it to the machine shop to get resurfaced and slap it on your d15b2 block with a new head gasket and also wire up the vtec solenoid and pressure switch... I would also go with the z6 head and convert the ef to obd 1... almost forgot you must change your dizzy with a vtec dizzy and either get a vtec ecu like a p28 or just chip your stock ecu to run vtec
