anyone used Beck/Arnley Remanufactured Caliper
anyone used these calipers before they sell them at advance auto parts for 57 bucks each.
im asking because i changed my brake pads today and tried bleeding the brake lines to get rid of a low pedal/soft engaging braking.
one of the pads had gooy stuff all over it where the caliper piston was touching it but the piston and seal where dry so im not sure if it was an old problem or not. i cleaned it all with brake cleaner and ill look at it later in the day tomorrow to see if theres any wetness/dripping by the piston.
if its leaking there i want to replace them so i figured id ask if these calipers where any good. (and no im not going to get the 130 dollar honda remans)
if it aint leaking i guess ill just keep trying to bleed them.

I put a set of them on a freind of mines car, 2 years and going strong.
Check in the market place here, for importRP. They sell OEM rem calipers (you need a core) and IIRC, are only about $30 a set.
But, if you have some time you can rebuild them for about $8 each. That's if you need to.

If they are anything like the ball joints they sell, they are crap!!!
I bought a rebuild kit for both sides for $8.

I'm really surprised to hear you say that. I use a lot of beck parts, many are brown box oe supplier parts and I've never gotten anything crappy from them. But who knows, times are changing. Rebuilding really is the way to go IMO, but take a look at centric's stuff. They're the parent company of stoptech, and I've been hearing pretty god things about them lately.
Beck arnley is high quality
I bought a set of beck arnley loaded calipers off rockauto for DIRT cheap, the calipers themselves were amazing looking and great quality, work perfectly. But the pads that they came loaded with were junk, but they were unlabeled
I would defientely go with the arnley caliper
Mine did get some surface rust quite quickly and I ended up taking them off and painting them, if your buying them and have a day or two, give them a quick coat of high temp paint, $8 well spent to never see rust
