Default P1259 & P0134

Anybody have these codes pop up? Research I've done suggest replacing the primary 02 sensor and low oil for the VTEC malfunction. These codes came up on my 03 yesterday driving home from work. Plug in my scan tool and pulled the codes.

Replacing the 02 fixed my P0134.

I'm just curious if the two codes are connected. I'm replacing the sensor this afternoon after work and I'm going to add an extra quart of oil to the engine.

Checked the oil and didn't seem low but I went ahead and added a half of a quart. Hopefully that fixes the P1259.

P0134- Service manual says the A/F sensor is bad or installed wrong. That's it, nothing else.
---------------------

P1259- Try cleaning the VTEC solenoid. The valve and plunger should move freely when you push them with your finger.

If that doesn't work, test the VTEC pressure switch for continuity( ohms). It should have continuity. The pressure switch will be sticking out of the solenoid assembly.

Also, test for resistance (ohms) between the VTEC solenoid and body ground. Should be 15- 30ish ohms.

There are other things to test, this is just the quick and dirty.
---------------------

The two are probably not related. Make certain you didn't over fill the oil.

If the light comes back on I'm going to take the solenoid off and clean the screen and whatever else is trapped between it and the block. Worst comes to worst, I'm out 80 bucks for a new solenoid.
